CRABBET CONVENTION

News Posted by: Coralie on 20/02/2006

Yes, there is life after the World Crabbet Convention [Toowoomba 11th to 16th November 2005] even when it is immediately followed by the graduations of one’s 17-year-old twins in the very same week!  This is a consequence of having to set the dates for the Convention so far ahead – I would hardly have planned it this way!!

The Convention was a wonderful experience.  So many wonderful horses together on the one Showgrounds, from as far away as Cairns in the north and Wagga Wagga in the south.  So many interesting people from all over the world gathered together.  Whenever they were all together in a small area, as at The Moat House for the camp oven dinner on the Saturday night, or at the Burke and Wills for the buffet dinner on the Sunday night, the babble of happy voices was most evident.  The bonds between the Crabbet breeders of the world are so much closer now.  Some of the British visitors started their trip a week earlier in Victoria, and managed to see a large proportion of the Crabbet horses of Australia in a very short time!

You can read all about the Convention in the “Arabian Horse News” [December and March editions], The Arabian Horse Express [February], and in the upcoming March edition of Australia’s Crabbet Arabian Horse magazine.  The Queensland Crabbet Arabian Group also has videos and DVD’s of the Parade for sale.  Our website is www.crabbetqueensland.com

We had three of our own horses and one of Peter Butler’s stabled at the Showgrounds for the Show and Parade.  As I was doing the announcing, Peter and Ken, with a lot of help from our daughter Catherine, prepared the horses.  Richard Sharman showed Hallelujah for us.  We were very pleased with the Show results.  The Champion Pure Crabbet Filly was John and Judy Hasted’s CAMEO VIOLETTA [Hallelujah/Cameo Tosca] while Reserve Champion was our own CAMEO SILVER HALO [Hallelujah/Pure Silver].

Peter Butler’s filly ELSHADA OPAL FIRE [Royalund Sparkling Silver/Rosie’s Duski Fire, a daughter of The Cameo Rose] won the blue ribbon in the 3YO Pure Crabbet Class.

She was also third in the very large Liberty Class that was open to all!  HALLELUJAH was third in his class.  In the Crabbet-Related section, Jenny Cruice’s mare KAMEX SAMIHA [Chip Chase Desert Wind/Dunwingeri Sabiha] was Champion Mare.  We could hardly have had a better day out!

We were also a part of the Stud Tours, with the visitors coming to us on the afternoon of Wednesday November 16th.  As we were all a little weary by then, visitors and stud principals alike, we kept it very informal, parading the stabled horses, then a paddock walk to visit mares and young horses.  Ken found a koala in a tree which was a great natural attraction!  We followed the bus to Jondaryan Woolshed for dinner that evening, before reluctantly bidding good-bye to our visitors.  These events are so long in the planning, and then all too quickly they are over.  Next morning at 7 a.m. Catherine and I had to be at Picnic Point restaurant for a Mother/Daughter breakfast to begin final activities for the graduating seniors at her school.  By 7 that night Ken and I were watching our glamorous daughter arriving for her Senior Formal!

THE FOALING SEASON

We had just two early foals to show our visitors at our Open Day in November, but most of the others had arrived by New Year.  These are our 2005 foals –

Pure Crabbets first:

CAMEO SILVER RAINBOW  Grey Filly  [Silver Wind Van Nina/Velvet Ribbons]

CAMEO SILVERSMITH  Grey Colt [Royalund Sparkling Silver/Cameo Silver Sky]

CAMEO SILVER DANSEUR  Grey Colt [Royalund Sparkling Silver/Adorable Dancer]

CAMEO ARIANNA  Grey Filly  [Hallelujah/Cameo Tosca]

High Percentage Crabbets:

CAMEO WARPAINT  Grey Colt [Cedardell Zanzibar/Cameo Moonsylph]

CAMEO PRISTINAA  Grey Filly [Cedardell Zanzibar/Cameo Primulaa]

CAMEO RHODEZIA  Grey Colt [Cameo Zhivago/Cameo Moonminx]

CAMEO KINGFISHER  Grey Colt [Royalund Sparkling Silver/Cameo Ophelia]

CAMEO MICHAELIAA  Ches Filly [Royalund Sparkling Silver/The Cameo Magnoliaa]

CAMEO HOSANNA  Grey Filly [Hallelujah/Cameo Louizianna]

CAMEO SCORPIO  Grey Filly [Hallelujah/Cameo Somertime]

CAMEO PYGMALION  Grey Colt  [Hallelujah/Cameo Freya]

We are so grateful for them all, and we have had lots to contemplate over a very quiet Christmas as we recovered from the Convention.  Adorable Dancer, as an older mare, was having her first foal ever, and has actually gone straight back in foal to “Sparky”.  Other first-time Mums Velvet Ribbons, Cameo Ophelia [“Candy”] and Cameo Freya, have all done a wonderful job with their foals.  Tosca’s filly Arianna is a full-sister to Judy Hasted’s Cameo Violetta, and just as elegant.  Magnoliaa’s filly Michaeliaa is a full-sister to Donna Renaud’s Cameo Cruise – Donna and Leanne Morgan were her first visitors!

As she is now 24 years of age, Magnoliaa has been retired from broodmare duties: Michaeliaa will be her last baby.  What a wonderful mare she has been.  We have retained her daughters Primulaa and Feliciaa. Primulaa has had 4 foals, 2 fillies and 2 colts.  Ken hopes to ride the other 2 daughters. We also will be retaining Magnoliaa’s splendid grandson EMBLAZON who was much-admired at our Open Day.  This is our great endurance family, which contains such luminaries as Lionheart [UAE], Virginiaa [Gheerulla Stables], Cruise [Donna Renaud], Azaleaa and Zinniaa [both in UAE].  Magnoliaa’s great friend and paddock mate Cameo Witchery has also had her last foal.  She is the dam of Barbara Timms’ endurance mare Cameo Coquette, and is the full-sister of Judy Penfound’s Cameo The Wizard. Her Somerled daughter Somertime commenced her breeding career in 2004 with the beautiful Hallelujah colt CAMEO BUCEPHALUS which Catherine has claimed.  He is now gelded and was an 18th birthday present, pure white already, a real young girl’s dream horse.

Our 16-hand [and still growing] 3YO Anglo colt CAMEO PROSPERO has served his first mares and will be doing some showing this year.  He will also be broken-in.

New News - at last!

News Posted by: Coralie on 21/03/2005

We continue to be thrilled with our 2004 foals. The oldest of them will be being weaned over Easter. The youngest, WINDZ OF CHANGE, “Windy’s” very last foal, will stay with his Mum Tropic Zanzibelle over winter. He is growing and developing, with the same square conformation, straight legs and beautiful short head as we always expected with the “Windy” foals.

We were thrilled to hear [and see] CAMEO ZINNIAA’s magnificent effort to finish 3rd in the President’s Cup in Dubai in February. Best of all, in this same race was Zinniaa’s full-sister CAMEO AZALEAA, being ridden by Penny Toft. Unfortunately Penny and Azaleaa did not finish the ride, as Azaleaa was vetted out lame. Onlookers felt this was a tough call at the time, and indeed, in a matter of days Azaleaa started again and finished 4th in another 120 km Ride in Dubai. These are such tough mares – they had personality and attitude right from the start, to go with their strong conformation, good legs and feet. We have two of their sisters : CAMEO PRIMULAA [by Jill McCartney’s Hanorr] is one of our broodmares with three foals, CAMEO PETULAA [just 4, broken-in and going well], CAMEO PEREGRINE [a yearling colt] and CAMEO EMBLAZON [still on his Mum] all by Cedardell Zanzibar to her credit, and CAMEO FELICIAA [2 years] a full-sister to Zinniaa and Azaleaa is tall and leggy in the back paddock.
Their dam THE CAMEO MAGNOLIAA is in foal to Royalund Sparkling Silver this year, to produce a full-brother or sister to Donna Renaud’s CAMEO CRUISE.

We have so far only been to the Warwick Ride at Maryvale this year, due to our kids’ sporting commitments. Ken rode CAMEO EZMERELDA [Cedardell Zanzibar/Moroccan Moon] in the 40km and finished well. We hope to get to Linville next with her. She is another of our big, opinionated mares who just wants to go, and is having to be ridden with considerable restraint [much to her utter disgust] until she gets through her 40 kms.

Ken is also riding four 4Y0 geldings – CAMEO KINSHAZA, CAMEO ZAMBIA, MERE MADAGAZCAR and CAMEO ZATOPEK. All of them are good, bold rides. Three of them are from Somerled [Pure Crabbet] mares, and the other from a Morocco mare. All are by Cedardell Zanzibar and are worth a look if anyone is interested in having a competitive horse from proven international bloodlines. Together with the mare CAMEO PETULAA they are the last of our 4YO’s. As soon as they are sold we will make a start on our 3YO’s and we have some super ones amongst them.

We have sold the 4Y0 gelding CAMEO RENAZAR [“Cameron”] to Kate Gadsby of Brisbane and he has been out to his first Training Ride at Imbil. Gloria Mellon of Herberton has bought the mare CAMEO COLUMBINE, a full-sister to Barbara Timms’ CAMEO COQUETTE, and she is to do her first Ride with her this month.

We have also made the big decision to sell our young bay Cedardell Zanzibar stallion CAMEO ZHIVAGO [from Tropic Fiona’s daughter Cameo Fifinella] to our friend Jacquie Webby of Al Dhahab Stud at Cambridge in New Zealand. Zhivago is very beautiful and athletic, from a strong female family which we value in this Stud, and he is a proven sire. Jacquie has already bred a filly by him from the Chip Chase Desert Wind mare Ejay Ngaio, and this Easter another newly-purchased mare Danjera Star Brio travels to NZ in foal to Zhivago. For us he has so far produced two fillies – one a superb liver chestnut Anglo filly LARA’s SONG [pending] and the other a gorgeous Purebred filly CAMEO CYMBELINE [from Cameo Witchery]. We have bred another two mares for the 2005 season, and Zhivago had several visiting mares as well.

In Zhivago’s place we will be retaining either of the full-brothers CAMEO PERGRINE or CAMEO EMBLAZON [both greys] from our Magnoliaa family. We also plan to run on two more of our colts from last season – BUCEPHALUS [Hallelujah/Cameo Louizianna by Zanzibar], and INNISKERRY [Pure Crabbet by Arfaja Haluj/Cameo Silver Sky by Somerled]

VALE - CHIP CHASE DESERT WIND 12th December 1975 – 6th June 2004

News Posted by: Coralie on 21/03/2005

On June 6th 2004 the epitome of the “quiet achievers” just slipped away. Very low-key and with no fuss, which was the way he lived his life as well.

“Windy” spent 28 years of his life in our ownership, having been purchased for a song at an Arabian sale in Toowoomba, Queensland, when he was 11 months of age, from his breeders Pam and John Roydhouse of “Chip Chase Park”.

In his early years he was shown extensively and won many Championships both in halter and under saddle. He was ridden at the Shows by Ken Gordon and Mary Williams [daughter of RM and Erica] but his most successful long-term partnership was with Kathy Humphries [nee Sharman, sister of Richard, daughter of Tom and Marion]. At the 1983 Australian Championships they were Reserve Champions in Side-saddle and Western, and Top Tens in Stallion Under Saddle and Costume. “Windy” then retired from the showring while his progeny took over.

In his stud career he sired over 200 foals, Purebred and Derivative, and he appears on the Lifetime Sires List with a lot of much more heralded peers.

He sired the Australian Top Ten Halter Purebreds SHERWIN WINDFRO [2 Top Tens as a stallion, 1 as a gelding], CAMEO WINDSPRITE and EJAY NGAIRE [dam of NAMATJIRA].
Also New Zealand National Champion Mare CAMEO WINDPIPER. His very successful show-winning daughter NIGHTSHADE produced Top Ten stallion SHADOWY NIGHT. Windy also sired some very successful Dertivatives such as Australian Champion Anglo Gelding EYE OF THE WIND and Champion Arabian Ponies BRACKNELL DESERT BREEZE and BRACKNELL BABY DOLL. His progeny have been exported to five different countries including the United States and the United Arab Emirates.
Much-decorated saddle stars WINDSSTAR and BAIAAME were daughter and grandson respectively.

Almost all our successful endurance horses are from Chip Chase Desert Wind mares, especially the superb group from his daughter THE CAMEO MAGNOLIAA [from Deirdre] – CAMEO LIONHEART, CAMEO ZINNIAA, CAMEO VIRGINIAA, CAMEO AZALEAA, CAMEO CRUISE, etc.
Most of these are in the UAE. He and the top endurance sire Chip Chase Sadaqa share the same sire, Cherokee Mecca.

“Windy” put in his last public appearance at our Open Day in November 2003, when he looked very well, and some lovely photos were taken of him that day. He had two mares to foal in the 2004 season.

He was always the perfect gentleman, a superb and easily-managed sire, with a magnificent temperament, just the best foundation any stud could wish for. With “children” aged from weanling to 26 years, he will not be soon forgotten.

P.S. The 2004 season brought the last two “Windy” foals. For endurance rider Barbara Timms, a chestnut filly from Oyster Bay Banina. For us, a chestnut colt WINDZ OF CHANGE [pending] from the bay Zanzibar mare Tropic Zanzibelle.

News Posted by: Coralie on 29/02/2004

It’s been a hectic five months or so since I last added to the news from The Cameo Stud, starting with our Open Day in November. We were celebrating our "first 3O years" of breeding Arabian horses as well as the 1OOth birthday of our farm. Friends and family helped us to prepare, the only flaw being that the farm was looking very dry after all these years of drought, a fact most remarked-upon by our visitors, and very evident in the videos and photographs taken on that day. However this in no way reflected on the condition of the horses as Ken has worked so hard to keep the hay and grain up to them during these difficult years[ all grown on our farm ], and has strip-grazed them every day so they were the only horses in the district who got to graze on fresh grass and lucerne for at least a few hours every day. They are fortunate indeed.

The Open Day was a great success and we thank our many friends who attended from as far away as Rockhampton [thanks Jan and Ken] and Torrington NSW [thanks Glenice and Pierre]. We welcomed about 15O people, and started by parading 9 of the horses, including three broken-in horses for sale. Our veteran stallion CHIP CHASE DESERT WIND [1975] led it off , fittingly as he has been with us for 28 of those 3O years. He was represented by his daughter THE CAMEO MAGNOLIAA [1981] the dam of all those wonderful endurance horses, and the only remaining daughter of our foundation mare Deirdre. CEDARDELL ZANZIBAR [1985] made a noisy entrance, thrilled to be spring-trotting around his great rival "Windy’s" very own paddock - at last! People are always amazed by his action, and he did not disappoint. He was represented by three of his progeny - our young bay stallion CAMEO ZHIVAGO [2OOO] and two young broken-in mares, CAMEO LOUIZIANNA [1999] and CAMEO COLUMBINE [1999]. Ken rode the two mares. Our Pure Crabbet stallion ROYALUND SPARKLING SILVER was not present, but his gelding son CAMEO TRANSKEI [1999] was ridden for us by Lexie Donald, who also rode a Somerled gelding, SOMERSAULT. Finally, our young Pure Crabbet stallion HALLELUJAH [1998] closed the Parade. He too is a showman with scintillating movement, and was very happy to perform for his audience. We walked our visitors down the lane through our broodmares, before a BBQ lunch under the trees.

And so to the foaling season as we had no foals to show off on our Open Day. Luckily we had no inkling of what was to come, because we finished the season with the loss of three foals and one treasured mare in foal, which left us devastated. However, we dusted ourselves off, and the mares who lost foals are now safely back in foal and we look forward to the next season. Our beautiful CAMEO FAIRYTALE, much-admired at our Open Day, can never be replaced, but we have her daughter CAMEO OPHELIA [by "Windy"] who later this year will take up maternal duties in her mother’s place, and of course, Fairytale’s half-sisters [all from our beloved Kalila] Cameo Windchyme and Cameo Witchery. Fairytale [by Mustafa*] was the dam of Jan Tyrrell’s CAMEO SLEEPING BEAUTY, and her much younger full-sister CAMEO ZENA who will no doubt hit the trails one day as will a handsome gelding CAMEO WOLVERINE [by "Windy"] who is a full-brother to CAMEO COSMOPOLITAN [UAE] and CAMEO CO-STAR [Julie Bartulis], both endurance horses.

Despite all our catastrophes, we have 7 lovely healthy foals to show for the 2OO3/4 season, and they are a great joy. They are - CAMEO PENZANCE [Cedardell Zanzibar/Cameo Windchyme] Grey gelding. CAMEO HELOIZE [Chip Chase Desert Wind/Cedardell Zanarra] Grey filly. CAMEO SWEET DREAMZ [Cedardell Zanzibar/Wellworth Dreamtime] Grey filly. CAMEO CHRIZTABEL [Cedardell Zanzibar/Cameo Somerset] Grey filly. CAMEO AMBROZIA [Cedardell Zanzibar/Cameo Allegra] Grey filly. CAMEO PEREGRINE [Cedardell Zanzibar/Cameo Primulaa] Grey colt. CAMEO HALCYON [Arfaja Haluj/Cameo Tosca] Pure Crabbet Grey filly.

They are a fine crop - five fillies and two colts. Beautiful old Dreamtime has given us a stunning daughter to go on with. Cedardell Zanarra has never had a colt! Cameo Somerset has her first foal, at the age of 19 years, and brings us full-circle for our 3Oth as she is the daughter of our original Purebred mare, Ashal! Cameo Primulaa’s handsome colt is a 3/4 brother to Cameo Lionheart [UAE], Cameo Azaleaa, etc, etc, and will remain a colt for the time being. And Tosca finally has an Arfaja Haluj baby after losing a precious full-brother several years ago due to an injury. In the midst of loss and despair there was still much to be thankful for, and isn’t that the horse story all over?

SALES: We were pleased to see off a number of our horses to new homes, to start their lives in earnest. Peter and Penny Toft, who earlier had bought CAMEO AZALEAA, also bought Cameo Zaire’s [UAE] full-sister, the bay CAMEO ZAMBESI MOON. Louise Suel purchased the chestnut Anglo-Arab gelding CAMEO GOLDFINGER [full-brother to Aurora Australis [NZ], The Salamander [NZ], The Wizard of Canterbury, etc, etc]. He will soon be off to New Zealand too, with Louise’s daughter Patrice already starting him off under saddle. Two of our geldings found new homes with good friends. CAMEO TRANSKEI is now the property of Leanne Morgan of Brisbane, and SOMERSAULT has been purchased by Donna Roberts. They are both lovely quiet boys who will soon be out and about in endurance with their new owners.

We will now start to break-in the rising 4YO geldings, and we have some beauties among them! If anyone would like a sneak preview, gave us a call, as they probably won’t be slow to find new homes.

In the early stages of 2OO4, we have had some wonderful falls of rain. Not enough to make our creek flow, but enough to grown lots of grass and please our crops no end. We have also had weeks of 4O degree-plus temperatures which have been an enormous trial to both man and beast, but the latest storms have brought some relief there too.

There- consider youselves up-to date for the present. Hopefully I will add to the story at Easter. Happy 2OO4 to everyone, and good luck to all our endurance horses out on the track this season!

News Update

News Posted by: Coralie on 1/10/2003

I can´t help remembering that on this day last year I was registering for the Crabbet Convention in Guidlford, Kent, and busily greeting friends from all over the world who were about to participate in a wonderful week of Convention and Stud Tour. Oh well .......

As Steve would say, it´s nearly that long since I updated our news so much has happened. We ended the 2OO2/3 breeding season with 11 beautiful healthy foals - 7 fillies and four colts. The very last filly born was CAMEO FELICIAA [Cedardell Zanzibar/The Cameo Magnoliaa], the latest addition to the famous family which includes endurance horses CAMEO LIONHEART, CAMEO VIRGINIAA, CAMEO CRUISE and CAMEO AZALEAA. This one is just as big and bold as her siblings. We also had Hallelujah´s first foal [for us] - a Pure Crabbet filly CAMEO SILVER HALO [from Pure Silver] who is a real little classic with reachy front, long deep hindquarter, and a really lovely head and eye. Fairymount Desert Gold excelled herself again with a very pretty golden-maned colt CAMEO IZAIAH. We have since gelded both Izaiah, and Primulaa´s colt CAMEO HORIZONS. CAMEO ZHIVAGO successfully served his first mares and has three foals expected, including one in New Zealand to EJAY NGARLA [Chip Chase Desert Wind/Santarabia Asfur] who was purchased by Jacquie Webby. Jacquie also bought the well-known Anglo mare bred by us, LADY IN RED, and she is in New Zealand now.

We had to make sad decisions about two of our "original daughters" - two of my five "untouchables" as I always called them, as they were irreplaceable in breeding terms and marked never to leave here. Well they never did. I kept that promise to them. The exquisite THE CAMEO FAWN [Samiri/Malika II] and the lovely and feisty CAMEO NEW MOON [Chip Chase Desert Wind/Electra Moon] are no more. TCF ["Bambi"] leaves her daughters CAMEO FREYA [by CCDW] and CAMEO LOUIZIANNA [by CZ], and a young gelding CAMEO CHAMELEON [by RSS]. CNM ["Mouse"] leaves daughters CAMEO MOONSYLPH [by RSS], CAMEO ZAMBESI MOON and CAMEO MARITZKA [by CZ]. These last two are full-sisters to CAMEO ZAIRE [UAE]. Then, unexpectedly and more recently, we also lost our beloved Pure Crabbet mare TROPIC FIONA [Silwan*/Tropic Jewel] at 26 years of age. "Fi" actually always belonged to Beryl Landsberg of Marlborough, but we were lucky to have her here at Oakey for most of the second half of her life, and we have two lovely daughters, the Pure Crabbet CAMEO SILVER SKY [by Somerled] and the very pretty and tall CAMEO FIFINELLA [by Coolmunda Toccara] who is the dam of our young stallion CAMEO ZHIVAGO.

With the start of the endurance season it was good to see some of our horses out there in the Rides. Debi Chisholm reported on 3 8Ok completions for TANZANIA [by Cedardell Zanzibar] in Victoria before he was sold to the UAE. He was bred by Peter and Janet Stephens. Bob Sample won the heavyweight section at Spring Mountain on CAMEO ZINNIAA. Jan Tyrrell was there on CAMEO SLEEPING BEAUTY. John Simpson completed the Windorah Desert Challenge on CAMEO WINDFAERER. Our own CAMEO AZALEAA, half-owned with Jeff and Tanya Trevarthen, was out there as well, and was soon off to Canowindra for the Quilty. Ken went with them as a strapper and really enjoyed his week away. It was great news when Tanya and Azaleaa completed successfully for Tanya´s first Quilty buckle. Azaleaa has since been sold to Toft Endurance for their competition team and we look forward to her continuing success. She is a very talented and bold performer and is second on the Queensland Distance Horse table for the year even though she has been rested since the Quilty. CAMEO CRUISE and Donna Renaud continued their steady progress and Donna bought WILDHAVEN DREAM WEAVER [Royalund Sparkling Silver/Cameo Tapestrie] who has started his endurance career as well.

Joan advertised and sold both her Pure Crabbet mares PURE SILVER and SIMPLY SILVER. They were in great demand but first off the blocks was Rob Day of Moonlite Stud at Wantabadgery NSW. who bought them both. We have had the mares on lease from Joan and Kerry Flynn for the past three years, and have bred five foals from them, including a daughter from each to keep. We have two Cedardell Zanzibar geldings - CAMEO RENAZAR ["Cameron"] and CAMEO ZATOPEK ["PK"], and a Pure Crabbet colt SILVER SASSAFRAS [Royalund Sparkling Silver/Pure Silver] which we have just sold to the Conway family of Kogan, Queensland. To keep, for our own Pure Crabbet programme, we have the fillies CAMEO SILVER SHELL [Royalund Sparkling Silver/Simply Silver] and CAMEO SILVER HALO [Hallelujah/Pure Silver].

Rob Day and Leon Bennett came to collect the two mares in the week prior to the Quilty at Canowindra. They actually brought the rain with them - on the day after they arrived [while they were in Brisbane inspecting Peter Wright´s horses] the heavens opened and dumped 2 1/2 inches on our part of the country, whereupon the creek ran a banker for 24 hours and they drove back to us from Brisbane through lightning and sheeting rain! Mind you, it has not rained one drop since and this is now September! We had a great few days, did a lot of talking, looked at photos, watched the odd video, etc etc, and then it was time to load up the girls to travel to their new home. While it was sad to see them go, they looked a picture and it is very special that they are going to a Crabbet home, and that they will be together as they have been all their lives. With their unique breeding, they are such special mares. Simply Silver is in foal to Hallelujah for an October foal.

Here we are in September and it is very dry after heavy frosts followed by 4O degree heat and biting winds. The horses are all shedding their coats and Spring has officially arrived but we long for rain to bring some green feed to us. We are expecting dear old FENWICK VELVETEEN [Greylight*/Velvetsheen] to foal any day now to Hallelujah.

OPEN DAY! On Sunday November 2nd we are having an Open Day at the Stud - an opportunity for visitors to see our stallions and broodmares, and some of our young stock. Some of the horses will be for sale. We even hope to have a few foals on view. The Parade will be at 11 a.m. followed by a Paddock Walk at 1 p.m. We will provide drinks and a sausage sizzle for lunch. Hope to see some of you here! We are about 2 hours from Brisbane and 2O minutes from Toowoomba. I can fax a mud-map to anyone who needs directions.
